Gramercy is my favorite New American restaurant in New York; we ate at the Tavern, not the tasting menu, but it is still a Michelin starred establishment. Our server Hailey was very professional, and the servers felt practically invisible for most of the service. The tavern area is really the bar and doesn't take reservations..it's first come first served. The dining room is more formal and does take reservations.
